19th Annual Kids Day returns to the Heartland
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
The 19th Annual Kids Day will be held in the Heartland this weekend.
Kids Day will be hosted by the Adair County Ambulance District on Saturday, October 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
It's a chance for your kids to join the fun and meet Adair County's EMS, fire, law enforcement and other safety individuals.
ACAD executive director Larry Burton told us why you should bring your kids to this event.
"Well you don't have a lot of calls that involve kids and things of that nature, but those are always the most traumatic for both the kids, the parents as well as the providers," Burton said. "Being able to bring them onto your campus and interact and see things might make them a little more comfortable if possible in those situations, but also, again, the more you can teach kids about safety, the better chance that maybe they won't have an accident."
Anyone is able to attend -- there is not age limit.
Bicycles with safety equipment for all ages will be given away and the grand prize this year will be an iPad.
Winners will be announced at 1:30 p.m. and you must be present to win.
