      2 people get trashed on meth

      Samuel Helm Jr., 48, and Jeanine Murrie, 48, both of Kirksville are in jail facing several felony counts including manufacturing and possession of a controled substance.

      Official charges have been filed against two Kirksville residents after the discovery of meth-making materials.

      That after Kirksville Police responded to a report Friday, from a trash truck driver that items were smoking in his truck.

      Turns out the items were used to cook meth and were still actively reacting. Police located information with the materials that led them straight to the door of Helm and Murrie.

      Authorities served the search warrant of their home in the 400 block of East Missouri, where they located further meth-related materials including finished methamphetamine products and marijuana.

      Both Helm and Murrie are in the Adair County Jail on a $75,000 cash-only bond.
