The Jefferson County Fair officially kicks off Tuesday and fair board members have been out at the fairground preparing for the week of festivities.
Starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday will be the 4-H horse show which is expected to last all day. The annual parade will start making its way down the street at 6:30 p.m.
Fair Board President Steve Fritchen said fairgoers can expect to see some new things this year.
â??Everybody looks forward to the demo derby and we've made our demo pit quite a bit bigger this year so it'll be something to see this year. I'm very, very -- can't hardly wait to see what happens there. We moved our tractor pull track. We built a new tractor pull track for this year. I think it's going to be awesome. It's all new so we've done a lot of stuff out on the track this year to help improve some of the events around here,â?? said Fritchen.
