2018 shaping up to result in a booming economy for Missouri
KIRKSVILLE, Mo. —
2018 is shaping up to be a booming year for the economy in Missouri.
This week, Kirksville Regional Economic Development Incorporated (K-REDI) held its annual meeting.
There, board members heard from Subash Alias who serves as the senior vice president of the Missouri Partnership.
That group works hand-in-hand with the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
KTVO asked Alias what we can expect this year when it comes to bringing more businesses to the state.
He didn't release any specifics, but did say he is optimistic for a great economy in the coming months.
"We've got a lot of what we call 'announcement pending status,' so there are several that we are working on announcements for now."
Alias also told K-REDI that when considering to build or relocate, industries look at factors such as location, available workforce, infrastructure and quality of life.
