The 'All American Red, White, and Blue Festival' has recently wrapped up in the City of Kirksville.
Those weekend events brought many visitors to the area. Tourism Director, Debi Boughton said Kirksville hotels were 95 percent filled for the holiday celebrations.
Events that were held also allowed organizations such as Curtain Call Theatre and Victim Support Services to make a profit by hosting and sponsoring different activities. The festivities also brought more people to the area who were able to shop and see what all Kirksville has to offer.
"The festival gives an opportunity for many of our charities to make money in addition to people you know being in town, shopping, eating in restaurants, staying in hotels. So, it's wonderful for our community," said Debi Boughton, Kirksville Tourism Director.
Other events to bring more visitors to the area are already being planned. The fourth annual 'Bacon Festival' will be held in September, which will provide fun for the whole family.
