75th annual community fair kicks off this weekend
Itâ??s some good old fashioned fun headed to the Heartland this weekend!
The 75th Annual Winigan 4-H and Community Fair have lots of fun activities planned and will be in full swing starting Friday, September 6th and running through Sunday the 7th.
The annual event is a time for the residents and people to come back to Winigan for a good old fashioned time.
Organizers say they have a parade, livestock show, tractor pull and lots of other cool things, even for the kids.
â??We have good turn out, we usually feed about 200 people for the noon meal and it varies from year to year, some days it's very hot, some years it's really rainy, but we have a good turnout,â?? said fair organizer Steve Young.
Organizers say there are activities and games for the young and young at heart.
There will also be a play production entitled â??Hillbilly Weddingâ?? on Friday and Saturday. The funny family fun production is centered on two hillbilly sisters that fall in love with a city slicker, and finally they come to their senses, and each marries the man they love.
â??The play is the â??Hillbilly Weddingâ?? and it's a story about a hillbilly couple, Maw and Paw and they have a problem, in fact they have six problems,â?? said play prompter Sharon Pheiffer.
Pheiffer tells us six actors and eight actresses have been working hard for the last three weeks.
The community fair will end with a community worship service on Sunday.
The play production crew says theyâ??ll even be a few surprises.
The community fair kicks off in Winigan, Missouri this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the community building.
