A local food bank hosts first Buddy Walk
Over a hundred people packed a local school district for a great cause.
The first Buddy Walk for the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri was held in Kirksville Saturday.
The walk was held to raise money for â??buddy packs.â??
'Buddy packs' are bagged lunches for local students in need of extra food supply during weekend periods.
Susan Dublin with the local food bank says there was more than enough participation.
â??There was a fee to enter and they got the buddy t-shirt with that and an ATSU backpack. They also contributed money with sponsors. I don't know how much we raised but I know in the thousands,â?? said Dublin.
Over 100 Truman State University students volunteered and over 40 A.T. Still University students volunteered for the event, also.
