A stampede mothers and sons can enjoy

The Heartland Task Force will host its Mother-Son Stampede

Mothers it's time to grab your sons and get ready for a stampede.

The Heartland Task Force will host its Mother-Son Stampede on Truman Farm and Bruce Normile Center grounds on the corner of Boundary and LaHarpe Streets in Kirksville.

The event will be held this Thursday starting at 4 p.m. Boys ages 5 and up are welcome to attend with their mothers or other special female adults in their lives.

â??It is a great event,â?? said Heartland Task Force co-president, Matthew Holt. â??We've been doing this for a number of years, it's extremely popular and we've had several hundred people every year come out, I think last year we were over so people. It's a really positive event for mothers and some or any adult female role model and boys come out.

There will be a firing range, obstacle course, hay rides, train rides and many other activities.

The stampede is $6.00 per couple and $2.00 for each additional boy.
