A Truman band helps the community relive history

Wind Symphony II rehearsing for a program celebrating the 150th anniversary of The Gettysburg Address.

The Truman State department of music performed pieces from the motion picture, "Lincoln" by: John Williams. Tuesday, November 19th, marks the day that the Gettysburg address was delivered 150 years ago. The medleys tonight were made up of four of the major themes which were recorded for the soundtrack and used in the film. The Wind Symphony II was the group performing tonight and they would like the community to know there are performances throughout the year.

â??The public is invited to all of our concerts throughout the year. This concert is certainly one of them, but there are many more and the community needs to know that our invitation is an open invitation for them to attend all of our concerts,â?? says Dr. Thomas Trimborn.

For more information on the Wind Symphony's upcoming events, visit the music departmentâ??s webpage: http://www.music.truman.edu.
