Adair County Commissioners met with Missouri Department of Transportation representatives Monday morning.
They discussed the beating that the winter weather took on budgets for items such as road salt. Now, they are looking towards the future when it comes to road improvements for the spring and summer seasons. Currently, the Commissioners and MoDOT are coming up with plans to fix area roads. The biggest issue that has been reported so far are potholes, which are in the process of being patched.
"Well this time of year, a lot of our concerns are around potholes, and we've been pothole patching. We really focus on that in March and April. We also hear a lot about driveways. When the frost comes out of the ground, things get soft," said Amy Crawford, Area Engineer for MoDOT.
If you have a problem on a road near you, feel free to report the issue to MoDOT. This can be done by calling 1-888-ASK-MODOT (275-6636) or by visiting www.modot.org
