Adair County holds Rabies vaccination clinic

Pet owners, itâ??s that time of the year again: Rabies vaccinations are recommended to protect you and your pets.

The Adair County Health Department in conjunction with the Adair County Vet Clinic held an annual rabies clinic at the Novinger fire house Saturday afternoon.

Families lined the south entrance of the building to get their pets vaccinated. Animals eligible to receive vaccinations included dogs, cats and ferrets.

Stewart Blessing of the Adair County Health Department says if you missed Saturday's clinic, it's not too late.

â??I just want to remind everyone to have their pets vaccinated. It provides a level of protection for our families as well as our pets to protect everyone from rabies,â?? said Blessing.

Last year, there were about 100 animals vaccinated and Blessing estimates there were another 100 animals vaccinated today as well.
