Over 60 Adair County Schools are being memorialized at the Kirksville Arts Center during the month of July.
Teachers and students from various time periods met at the center on Saturday for an open house.
The event serves as a class reunion for those who attended.
There is also an opportunity to admire class composites and pictures of old school buildings.
Organizers are also in the process of writing a book to further preserve the memory of the county's schools.
??It's a very exciting project for us. There will be a lot of stories about the history of education in Adair County. The best part will be our games, pie suppers and getting to know each other,?? said organizer Vivian Vice-Wright.
The exhibit will be on display for two more weekends at the Kirksville Arts Center.
The public is welcomed to stop by between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday or between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday.
