The theft of a pickup truck has landed a Heartland man in jail, but not before he wrecked the vehicle.
The suspect is Randall Walker Jr., 23, of Agency, Iowa.
Walker is charged with Theft 2nd Degree, a Class D felony.
The Wapello County Sheriff's Office says the pickup was stolen north of Agency on Saturday.
On Monday, the Mahaska County Sheriff's Office recovered the truck after it was involved in a single-vehicle crash.
The driver was not at the scene when deputies arrived.
The investigation led deputies to Walker and evidence connecting him to the theft of the pickup.
Right now, Walker is being held in the Wapello County Jail with bond set at $5,000.
We're told more charges are pending.
