Airport road renamed to honor former director

A ribbon was cut and a road was renamed at the Kirksville Regional Airport Monday.

The road was renamed after David Hall, the former airport director who died this past April from a four-year battle with leukemia. Hall family members, the Chamber, the City of Kirksville and the County Commission all took part in the ceremony and un-veiling of the new road marker. Hall worked at the airport for over 20 years and played an important role, creating the Kirksville Regional Air Festival and maintaining the airport's commercial space.

"I think everyone recognized how much he did for the airport and the community by way of the airport, and it was really a dedication and acknowledgment of that effort and that appreciation for him" said Hall's wife, Laurie.

David Hall Trail sits off of Highway 63 and is the main entrance to the Kirksville Regional Airport.
