A Heartland community came out on this Sunday to support their local fire department.
The Green Castle Community Fire Department held their annual Fireman's Breakfast Sunday morning. The event was held at the Green Castle Lion's Club building.
For only $6 people helped themselves to an all you can eat breakfast buffet. The food consisted of biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and scrambled eggs.
All of this was done to help raise money in support of the fire department.
"It's great to see the community come out and support us. When we help them, we do the best we can. This helps our fire department build on this. It's nice to see the community here and they got our back a little bit," said Green Castle Fire Chief Brandon Lindsay.
Lindsay said the money raised will be used to buy firefighter equipment.
About 60 people attended the event.
Lindsay also gives credit to the cooks for making the event a success. They got up as early as 6 a.m. to get the food ready.
