Alliant Energy's Iowa Utility presented a nearly $200,000 check to the Southern Iowa Economic Development Association.
SIEDA will distribute these funds to assist income-eligible customers with this winter's high heating costs throughout the seven counties they cover. The donation on Friday was possible through Alliant Energy's Hometown Care Energy Fund, where shareholders, employees, retirees and customers can make optional contributions to throughout the year.
â??We wanted to give back to our communities and share with them funds that will help our communities and help our customers defray bills, and agencies such as this, we work with them and partner with them,â?? Tom Aller, Alliant Energy Iowa Utility President, said. â??We couldn't do it without them.â??
