AMBER Alert in KC abduction now canceled

Update: Jace Brunt, 2, has been found safe. This AMBER Alert has been canceled.

The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department issued an AMBER Alert for a child abduction that occurred in the 1700 block of South 35th Street in Kansas City, Kansas at 12:53 p.m., Friday.

Jace Brunt, 2, was forcibly taken from his biological mother by his non-custodial father. The father, Joshua Brunt, allegedly used a firearm to force compliance and the girlfriend, Jasmine Brunt, allegedly used mace / OC spray during the event.

Violent actions at the scene indicate that Jace is in imminent danger. The suspect vehicle was a white Dodge Charger with unknown registration with rear end and rear driver side damage.

Joshua Andrew Brunt, 25, is 6 feet 1 inch tall, with tattoos on his arms and neck. He was seen wearing a tank top and red shorts.

Jasmine Brunt, 24, is 5 feet 8 inches tall, with brown braided hair in a ponytail. She was last seen wearing a black spaghetti strap tank top and green basketball shorts.

Jace Bryant has light brown hair and was last seen wearing a dark t shirt or tank top and pajama pants and no shoes.

Anyone seeing the victim, suspect, or vehicle or anyone having any information related to the abduction should immediately dial 911 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency or call the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department at 913-596-3000.
