The head of a northeast Missouri ambulance service is fired following a special meeting this week.
Putnam County Ambulance District Administrator Jason Dean of Unionville was dismissed Tuesday.
Dean's firing came after Certified Public Accountant Mark Higgins gave an audit report during a closed session of the Ambulance District Board meeting.
According to minutes from that meeting, the audit report revealed misappropriation of funds.
After a lot of discussion, a motion was made to dismiss Dean as an employee of the Putnam County Ambulance District.
The motion passed by a vote of four-to-one.
KTVO went to Dean's house in Unionville Friday afternoon to try and get his side of the story, but no one came to the door even though Dean's vehicle was parked in the driveway.
At this time, no charges have been filed in the case of the alleged misappropriation of ambulance district funds.
Putnam County Prosecutor Jim Garrett told KTVO he has been presented with no paperwork regarding possible charges against Dean.
The meeting minutes state that at the accountant TMs recommendation, the board will be more active in the business of the Putnam County Ambulance District, and members decided to hire a secretary.
A replacement administrator will not be hired at this point.
