      American Red Cross is calling for Heroes of the Heartland Nominations

      The local American Red Cross is making one final call for nominations for their Heroes of the Heartland event. Do you know someone who has performed an extraordinary act of courage or dedicated countless hours to a special cause? The American Red Cross serving Greater Iowa is looking for common citizens, the unheralded and unselfish pillars of our community.

      Nominations for the Heroes of the Heartland event in Ottumwa, for the South Prairie Region, are being taken now for this local recognition event. The Red Cross is depending on the public to nominate individuals that have performed an extraordinary act of courage or has put in countless hours to a special cause. We hope that this opportunity encourages people to nominate friends, co-workers, relatives; anyone they believe should be recognized at the event. Nomination forms can be found at www.redcross.org/iowa, local businesses such as Bridge View Center, Elliot Oil ?? all BP locations, Pizza Ranch ?? Ottumwa and Fairfield locations, Community 1st Credit Union ?? Albia, Centerville, Oskaloosa, Fairfield, Bloomfield, Ottumwa ?? 3 locations one being in Wal-Mart, South Ottumwa Savings Bank or picked up at the local Red Cross office at 408 East Main Street in Ottumwa.
