Flu season is upon us and if you're too busy to make an appointment, there's a clinic where you don't even have to get out of your car.

The Adair County Health Department will be hosting their annual drive-thru flu clinic.

It will be held Tuesday, October 8 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the NEMO Fairgrounds in Kirksville.

They have held this clinic for ten years now and each year they've seen an increase in residents taking advantage of this free service, that's why they're doing something different this year.

â??Tomorrow we are going to be adding a third line which we've never done before, kind of like an express line. If you have your form filled out you can get into this line, and I just want to mention that you can get this form on our website and we have a new website its so you download the form and just come on out and we'll get you in the express lane and we'll get you through the line,â?? said Adair Co. Health Dept. Administrator Jim LeBaron.

The flu shots are free and you don't have to be an Adair County resident to take part in the drive thru clinic, but you must bring your consent form.

You're asked to wear a short sleeved shirt to speed up the process.

Health officials are expecting up to 1,500 Tuesday and say it shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes for the entire process.

The regular flu clinic at the health department will be held Monday-Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
