Annual blood drive in Macon helps save lives

Students at Macon High School rallied the community to save lives Monday as they held their annual blood drive.

The Macon High School Student Council partnered with the American Red Cross in an attempt to attract as many donors as possible.

They set their goal at 60 donors, but weâ??re confident they could eclipse that mark.

Macon High School Student Council President Hannah Hartung said the importance of this annual event is critical because lives are on the line.

â??It's a great cause. It helps people in the future in their own lives if they're having trouble with something or if they're in an accident, so I would just encourage people to come and help save lives,â?? said Hartung.
