The City of Kirksvilleâ??s Red, White and Blue celebration kicked off Thursday night with the annual Cemetery Theater Walk.
Curtain Call Theatre Company and friends of Forest Llewellyn Cemetery teamed up for a blast back to the past.
The actors and actresses of Curtain Call presented reenactments of events in the lives of prominent Kirksville citizens, many of whom are buried in the cemetery.
â??Voices from the past will be speaking to people that are out here today. We have people from the Civil War era up through a teacher that taught at the Lincoln School in 1954 when the schools were desegregated,â?? said actress Laroyce Allemang.
Doctors, teachers and political figures were among those reenacted.
Red, White and Blue festivities will continue Friday morning in Kirksville with the annual Fourth of July parade.
The parade will be held downtown beginning at 9:30 a.m.
