Annual haunted house scares up money for a good cause

This is the 12th year Alpha Kappa Lambda has held a charity Haunted House.

If youâ??re looking for a little haunting this Halloween, a Heartland Fraternity has just what you need.

The Xi chapter of Alpha Kappa Lambda is opening the doors to the Haunted Mansion Sunday.

This is the 12th year the fraternity has held the haunted house, and all proceeds go to the Northeast Regional Food Bank in Adair County.

Admission is $5 at the door, $3 if you go in a group of six or more.

Even if getting scared stiff isn't your thing, you might want to give this house of horrors a try.

"I know a lot of people, especially if know it's run by college kids think it will be too scary for their young ones or whatever, but we do have a system to make sure that everybody, whether or not you bring toddlers or you all the way up to parents, we have a system in place to make sure that you get the amount of scariness right for you," said Zach Brand, House manager of Alpha Kappa Lambda.

The Alpha Kappa Lambda house is located at 918 South Osteopathy Street in Kirksville. The haunted house will run from 8 p.m. to midnight every night through Halloween.
