Macon County Ministries needs your help to give kids a good Christmas this year.
The Helping Hands at Christmas Program is now collecting toys for their annual Santa Shop.
From now until December 3, you can drop off toys for kids, ages newborn to 13, at 12 locations throughout Macon County. Collection locations include Bank Midwest, Bank of Macon, Citizens Bank & Trust, Dollar General, Long Branch YMCA, Macon-Atlanta State Bank, and the two U.S. Bank locations in Macon; Matt's Market and Bank of New Cambria in Bevier; LaPlata State Bank and Bank of New Cambria.
Organizers hope that while people are out shopping this holiday weekend, they can take the time and a few bucks to give a child a smile this holiday season.
"There's container and you can put toys in there. We really appreciate it because it takes a lot of toys for about 150-170 children to provide toys for and we do it early so the parents won't worry about not having toys at Christmas," said Sandy Coons, Santa Shop Coordinator.
Coons says they are in demand for toys specifically for newborns and older kids.
The toys will be distributed to parents on Saturday December 7.
