If you are looking for something to do this Memorial Day weekend, head out to Cantril, Iowa for the annual Waubonsie Trail Rendezvous.
The event allows spectators to actually learn what it was like to live as a Native American or Mountain Man hundreds of years ago.
Organizers suggest heading to Cantril this weekend to make some memories with your family and friends.
â??If you want something to do, you come out here and we will teach you how to survive the way they us to do. A lot of good folks here. Anything you want to know, they will teach you. They will show you. They will talk to you. This is a really awesome event,â?? said Tim Fortney, one of the organizers of the event.
Fortney told KTVO that on Friday evening, the entire camp will be participating in a Buffalo Dance.
â??Tonight we are going to have our Buffalo Dance. And it is just something we do to get ready for the weekend. It is probably not an exact Buffalo Dance the Native Americans had, but we have a lot of fun doing it,â?? said Fortney.
On Monday morning, organizers will be holding a Memorial Day ceremony to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
