Another day, another Heartland meth bust
Two people are facing numerous felony charges, following a drug bust Monday in rural Adair County.
Charged are Janae Reiss, 29, and Brandon Chad Miller, 33, both from Novinger, Missouri. They are each charged with manufacturing a controlled substance in a residence with a child, possession of a controlled substance, receiving stolen property and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. They are being held in the Adair County Jail, under $100,000 cash only bond each.
According to court papers, officers from the Kirksville Police Department, Adair County Sheriff's Office, North Missouri Drug Task Force and the Missouri Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control conducted a warrantless search at the Reiss residence on Rye Creek Road, near Novinger. The officers were acting on a tip that meth was being manufactured at the residence.
The search revealed numerous items used to manufacture meth, along with powder that field tested positive for meth.
Also discovered at the residence was a Suzuki motorcycle that had been reported stolen from Clinton, Missouri.
Reiss is currently on probation for felony possession of a controlled substance, while Miller was just released from federal custody this past December.
