Appanoose County Fair begins Monday

Monday kicked off day one of the Appanoose County Fair in Centerville. The fair will go until Saturday.

Monday night was the Fair Queen contest and fair dedication. The day was also filled with 4H and FFA members checking in projects and livestock.

According to Fair Board Secretary Martha Furlan, the county has around 300 members in 4H and FFA who have spent the year preparing for fair week.

"There's a lot of work that starts probably most of them start in December with livestock projects and go through the whole year and others are making things and doing their crafts in the winter and I know some are bringing 10 to 20 projects a piece for their crafts and cooking and all those types of things," Furlan said.
