They say April showers bring May flowers, and one home in the Heartland has over 7,000 of them.
While it may have been below 40 degrees outside on Thursday, Ernie Hinkle was tending to his tulips at his home in Birmingham, Iowa. The 89-year-old gardener and his wife welcome people from the community to see his colorful flowers on display. Signs direct visitors through the scenic tulip garden. He says heâ??s been inviting people around the community to see his tulips for the past decade.
â??Every year I buy and plant two, three or four hundred more, enlarge it a little bit and I guess we enjoy having the people drive through and see it,â?? Hinkle said.
