April showers bring May... flurries
Since when did April showers bring "May" snow? The answer: Friday.
Parts of our viewing area were blanketed by a layer of the white stuff. Residents in Sullivan County got anywhere from 3-5 inches that fell overnight and into the early part of Friday morning.
We spoke to a man in Milan, and he talked to us about how this snow is making the beginning of may look more like the middle of December
"It's cold and hard to get around and it's slick and we're supposed to be out planting instead of shoveling snow," Melvin Scott, a worker at The Mowing Shop said. "But yeah it slows it down considerable on these kinds of days. Of course that gives us a chance to catch up on what we didn't get the day before when it was good."
Scott tells us he's 76 years old, and he's never seen it snow in May. He told us he's seen flurries during corn planting season, but nothing like this. Although he admits we need the moisture, he says we definitely didn't expect snowfall in May.
