Aquatic center open for business

The Memorial Day weekend marks the start for area swimming pools including right here in Kirksville. The aquatic center opened its outdoor pool for the season Saturday to the liking of many children and adults. The abnormally hot weather this weekend brought many people out.

â??We do have morning hours for the indoor pool. Itâ??s open 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and then the outdoor pool and indoor pool open again at noon. We are open from noon until 7:00 p.m. You can get daily passes. Adults are $3.50. Children and seniors are $3.00 Children under 2 are free. We also have seasonal and yearly passes. An individual yearly pass is $175. An individual season pass is $75. A family pass is three months; it will get you in here for the summer. That will run you $150 for as many people in your family. And you can get a yearly family pass for $300,â?? said Kirksville Aquatic Center Supervisor John Venner.

The Kirksville Aquatic Center will host many special events this summer such as Teen Nights and Dollar Days. Area Wading pools at other local parks in the Kirksville area also opened for the season today as well.
