Local art lovers spent the afternoon eating lunch and learning together.
The 'Lunch and Learn' is held every Tuesday afternoon in April at the Kirksville Arts Center. Those in attendance heard from local artist and Truman Professor Lilly Lee. She spoke on art pieces such as sculptures and fibers. The lunch lets people discover the different forms of art, mingle with fellow artists, and ask questions.
"We ask an artist to come and discuss his or her work, demonstrate, tell us about it. Anything you might be interested in. And, we serve lunch, and so we are having a lunch and learning." said Nettie Carpenter, Co-Chair of the Lunch and Learn.
The next Lunch and Learn will take place next Tuesday at 11:45 with the serving of lunch and discussion at noon at the Arts Center in Kirksville. Those who attend will hear from watercolorist, Dana Forrester. If interested in attending, tickets can be purchased at Edna Campbell's located on the Kirksville square for $10.
