Students at A.T. Still University are now recruiting volunteers to be among the 'casualties' in a mass casualty simulation.
Members of the Disaster Awareness Response Team (DART) are looking for people of all ages to act as victims in a number of disaster situations. The simulation is scheduled for Saturday, March 29th. The event will help the medical students and members of the community learn how to prepare and respond in an actual disaster.
"And so it's really important that we as a community plan and have an understanding of what types of things can go wrong in a disaster and what types of things we as a community should do to lessen the impact of those disasters," said Michael Kates, an A.T. Still University student.
ATSU will be teaming up with the Kirksville Fire and Police Departments for the exercise. Once again, the simulation will be occurring Saturday, March 29th at the ATSU Campus.
