A.T. Still University welcomes first-year students a month early this year.
ATSU hosted orientation activities Monday for the 222 students accepted into the dental and osteopathic medical schools.
There have been a number of activities for the new students throughout the week.
Fridayâ??s activity was the Informational Services Fair.
The fair provides information on a host of city services.
A few of those services include: parks and recreation, water and sewer and also trash and recycling.
â??It's always great for the economy in Kirksville to have not only 222 new students here for the university, but also their families who will be in town for the White Coat Ceremony. Also, the spouses and significant others they may have. They have a compound economic effect here in the city of Kirksville for our downtown businesses, restaurants and retail shops,â?? said Ashley Young, Kirksville Assistant City Manager.
Activities will continue Saturday with each school's induction and White Coat Ceremonies.
