One Heartland college is celebrating its inagural class.
A.T. Still University in Kirksville held its White Coat Ceremony Saturday morning at Ophelia Hall on the Truman State University campus.
The ceremony was held for the brand new Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health's inaugural class.
Students had a chance to hear advice and well wishes from administrators, faculty, staff and upperclassmen as they start their years at A.T.S.U.
"You will work very hard, but more importantly you will start an adventure to improve the lives of those you will mentor, you will educate, assist, and treat. As members of this inaugural class, you will be the pioneers of A.T. Still University," said ATSU Dental School Inaugural Dean Christopher Halliday.
Each student received a white doctor's coat with a pin.
The dental school's first class has 42 students. They will begin classes Monday.
Good luck to A.T.S.U. dental students, Class of 2017.
