UPDATE: Autopsies for a Kirksville attorney and her husband, who were fatally shot in an apparent murder/suicide, are set for sometime Tuesday.

Adair County Coroner Brian Noe told KTVO he took the bodies of Kadie Campbell Johnson, 33, and Riley Johnson, 36, to the state medical examiner's office in Columbia, Missouri, on Monday.

Noe said preliminary autopsy results should be available by late Tuesday afternoon.

KTVO will keep you posted on this developing story in the coming days.

UPDATE: The Adair County Sheriff's Office has released the names of the two people killed in an apparent murder-suicide early Sunday morning.

Sheriff Robert Hardwick identifies the two as Kristen "Kadie" Campbell Johnson, 33, and her 36-year-old husband, Riley Johnson, both of Kirksville.

Hardwick says the dispatch center received a 911 call around 1:30 a.m. Sunday reporting shots fired inside the Johnsons' home just south of Kirksville.

The sheriff's office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded.

Two other adults and the Johnsons' three small children were also inside the home at 23534 Burk Trail just off of Highway 11 West.

Adair County Coroner Brian Noe says once law enforcement officers got into the home, they discovered Kadie Campbell Johnson's body in the garage.

Riley Johnson's body was found in a hallway just off of the garage.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Autopsies are scheduled for early this week.

Noe told KTVO it appears Riley Johnson was the shooter, killing his wife and then ending his own life with a gunshot.

The sheriff says several firearms were found at the scene.

An investigation into the circumstances that led up to the fatal shootings is underway.
