Authorities need your help in locating missing Ottumwa man

UPDATE: A missing man from southeast Iowa has now been found.

The Wapello County Sheriffâ??s Office said in a press release issued at 6:12 p.m. Monday that it would like to let the citizens of Wapello County and surrounding communities know that Brian Matson of Ottumwa has been located and is safe.

The sheriffâ??s office said it appreciates all information that was provided which helped to end the missing personsâ?? search.

Sheriff Mark Miller also said he would like to thank all persons who contacted the sheriffâ??s office in an effort to help in locating Matson.


The Wapello County Sheriffâ??s Office is requesting the publicâ??s assistance in locating a missing Ottumwa man.

Brian Matson, 58, of Hidden Valley Trailer Court, was last seen around 12:30 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2014 in the vicinity of the trailer court which is located at 16440 Hwy 34 West, Ottumwa.

Matson was wearing bib overalls and a grey or black shirt. He has grey hair and a grey beard. Matson also always wears an Overhead Door ball cap.
