Authorities recover stolen property from rural Wapello County home

The Wapello County Sheriffâ??s Office was notified of a burglary incident at a rural Wapello County residence on Wednesday.
Information from an initial investigation lead police to execute a search warrant at the residence of Nicholas Ballard on West Walnut in Eldon, Iowa.
The subsequent search produced evidence associated with the burglary from Wednesday. Authorities also recovered stolen items consistent with additional burglaries in Eldon and Jefferson County.
Additional search warrants were obtained to seize all other stolen property.
Nicholas Ballard was subsequently charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, a Class â??Câ?? Felony.
Ballard is currently being held in the Wapello County Jail on a $10,000 bond. Additional charges are anticipated in connection with the investigation.
Assisting the Wapello County Sheriffâ??s Office in the investigation were the Eldon Police Dept. and the Jefferson County Sheriffâ??s Office.
