Autopsy results released in murder investigation
The Iowa State Medical Examiner has ruled the death of a southeast Iowa man a homicide.
The Davis County Sheriff's Office says an autopsy was performed Saturday morning at the medical examiner's office in Ankeny, Iowa, on the body of 48-year-old Randy Lynn Saner of rural Bloomfield, Iowa.
Saner was found dead early Friday morning at a home on 276th St. near Bloomfield, Iowa. The medical examiner said Saturday that Saner died as a result of a single gunshot wound.
Davis County Sheriff Dave Davis tells KTVO investigators have recovered the weapon they believe was used in the shooting.
Saner was killed at the home of Cathy Clark. Clarks ex-husband, 59-year-old Larry Wayne Steen, of Davis County, Iowa, has been charged in connection with Saner's murder.
Steen was arrested around 5 a.m. Friday by authorities in northeast Missouri. They found him passed out in his truck at Fort Madison Cemetery in Adair County, Mo. He's charged with first degree murder and first degree burglary and is being held on $500,000 cash only bond.
Steen waived extradition and was taken back to Davis County, Iowa, Friday afternoon.
