Bank robber strikes twice in SE Iowa
Federal and local authorities are asking for the public's help to capture a suspect who robbed two southeast Iowa banks Monday.
The man entered the Community First Credit Union on Richmond Ave. Monday at around 9:45 a.m.
KTVO has learned the suspect presented a threatening demand note and indicated he had a gun. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen in the 900 block of Church St.
The FBI says they believe the man then went on to rob the Wayland State Bank in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, at around 2 p.m. Monday afternoon using the same modus operandi.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid-20s. He's around 5 TM6 tall with a small build. He was wearing a white short sleeve button up shirt, brown dress pants and a brown striped colored tie. The suspect was also wearing glasses and a white baseball hat with a Jagermeister logo.
