Bank robbery suspect caught after chase

Morris Thompson, 26

A second suspect wanted in connection with three Heartland bank robberies is now in custody in Illinois.

Morris Thompson III, 26, of Humboldt, Illinois, was arrested late Thursday morning near Mattoon, Illinois after leading authorities there on a chase lasting nearly 30 minutes.

After the pursuit, investigators say Thompson abandoned his vehicle and was caught after a short foot chase.

Thompson's alleged partner in the robberies, Ryan Zasareti, 21, also of Humboldt, Illinois, has been in custody since his arrest Tuesday near Charleston, Illinois.

Both men are in custody in connection with bank robberies in Ottumwa and Mount Pleasant.
