Barnyard Days teaches kids about agriculture

Kirksville FFA Chapter put on its annual Barnyard Days event Wednesday.

FFA Week continues with children's learning activities.

The Kirksville FFA Chapter held its annual Barnyard Days event starting Wednesday for children at Kirksville Primary, Early Childhood, and Faith Lutheran schools.

The petting zoo includes a baby goat, pigs, a horse, chicks, a rabbit, sheep even a donkey.

The group hosts this event annually to offer children a better understanding of agriculture while having a little bit of fun.

"Personally my favorite part is the kids that interact with the animals. I have a few kids I babysit and I got to see today and seeing their excitement and how they couldn't wait to see all the animals. It's the excitement of the kids I like the most," said Morgan Baker, 1st Vice-President of Kirksville FFA.

The students even created an interactive activity area which included collecting eggs and planting jelly beans.

The event continues through Thursday.
