The small town of Bativia draws a large crowd to the city's downtown for three days of fun-filled festivities.
Batavia Days are a tradition the community builds upon year after year, with delicious food, tractor pulls, contests, games for the kids and their highly anticipated softball games. This year 12 teams signed up for the softball tournament, and most participants have played in previous years. Organizers say they enjoy seeing people come into town for the family-friendly events, and everything is free but the food.
â??New this year last night was the garden tractor pull, which was really cool.â?? Tycene Weber, Batavia Days Volunteer said. â??I personally had never been to that, and there was a big crowd for that.â??
Weber says she couldn't have asked for better weather this year. People will be dancing the night away from 7p.m.-11 p.m., and Batavia Days will wrap up Sunday with their final softball tournaments.
