Batavia was busy Saturday morning as the community hosted their annual Batavia Days. The parade on Saturday morning was filled with clowns, tractors, and candy.
Although the Batavia Days are about food, fun, and family, the event also gives back to the community.
The money raised from this festival go towards a scholarship fund for one man and one woman in the community.
Lifelong resident and parade announcer, Steve Smith, says Batavia Days is more than just having a good time.
â??In small towns like this community pride is a big thing,â?? said Smith. â??Small towns are dying across the country so when you can bring people together as one unit and get them together so they can reinforce the community feel."
Committees are already planning for next yearâ??s Batavia Days. They also host a haunted house in the fall.
