Fri, 06 Dec 2013 03:27:02 GMT —
On Saturday, the small town of Bentonsport will be hosting Country Christmas themed festivities.
Thanks to volunteers and shopkeepers in town, there is a beautiful Christmas light display around the Forever Sweet Creations store on Hawk Drive and also a big star lighting up the town's historical iron bridge.
â??We'll have Santa coming in,â?? Betty Printy said. â??There will be hot chocolate, they'll be a scavenger hunt and the old houses are all lit up with candles and Christmas lights have been decorated, you'll be able to see working artisans and enjoy shopping in a very rural area with very unique crafts and antiques.â??
Printy is a potter co-owns the Iron and Lace shop across the street from the candy shop.
This Saturday, you can shop for local made gifts including fudge, crafts, antiques, artwork and jewelry from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be an adult scavenger hunt from 4 to 6 p.m., and weather permitting, Santa will arrive on a Harley at 4 p.m., and you can take your picture with him in the Shelterhouse.
You can drive through to see Christmas lights from dusk until 11 p.m.
The stores will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the next two weekends. For more information visit www.greefstore.com.
