Sunday was the second and final day of the 27th annual Bike Van Buren event.
Organizers say there have been some changes this year, and riders have been pleasantly surprised. New this year, was child and adult registration fees as well as one and two day options. Stacey Reese, the executive director of the Villages of Van Buren says the biggest change were the alternate route options.
â??We've seen a lot of new riders this year,â?? Reese said. â??We've changed it up, and we've added some more route options. Yesterday we had four route options varying from 18 miles up to 70 miles, and then today our full route's 46 miles with the shortest route being 23. There's actually three different routes today.
All the proceeds raised from the biking event go to benefit the Villages of Van Buren. The Keosauqua Lions Club cooked a breakfast for the bikers which helped raise money for their organization as well.
