Bloomfield Main Street honored with award and national accreditation

Bloomfield Main Street was recently given an award and national accreditation.

Bloomfield Main Street was recently awarded two major accolades.

The first was given at the annual Main Street Awards, where they took home the Best Facade Project over $15,000. That title is usually taken by one of Iowa's bigger communities, like Dubuque, Cedar Rapids or Cedar Falls.

"It was for the Davis County Courthouse clock tower rehabilitation, so we're pretty happy with that," said Doug Dixon, President of the Bloomfield Main Street Board of Directors. "We're still actually working on the courthouse. Right now, they're rehabbing the [clock], the clockworks, so that rehabilitation of the courthouse continues."

Bloomfield Main Street has also been given accreditation from the National Main Street Program, which confirms that they are meeting the standards set by the National Main Street Center. Dixon said receiving the accreditation validates the work the Main Street office is doing.
