Bloomfield man arrested for filming sex act with child
BLOOMFIELD, Iowa —
A Bloomfield man is jail after being accused of sexual abuse.
According to Bloomfield Police Chief Shawn Armstrong, Steven Crook, Jr. was arrested after officers executed a search warrant on March 9.
Crook is accused of performing a sex act on a small child and filming the encounter.
Armstrong told KTVO Monday afternoon that the victim was related to Crook.
He has been charged with Sexual Abuse in the Second Degree. That is a class B felony in Iowa, with a penalty of up to 25 years in prison.
Armstrong said the Davis County Sheriff, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Iowa State Patrol have contributed to the ongoing investigation.
He added that federal prosecutors are looking at the case and additional charges could come from the U.S. Attorney.
Crook is being held at the Davis County jail with a $100,000 bond.
