Bond reduction denied for Oskaloosa mother accused of killing toddler

      Alicia Ritenour, 21

An Iowa judge has denied a reduction in bond for an Oskaloosa mother accused of killing her child.

Attorneys for Alicia Ritenour, 21, had asked the court to reduce her $500,000 bond, and according to online court records, Judge Lucy Gamon denied that request on Thursday.

KTVO checked with the Mahaska County Jail Friday morning, and a jailer told us that Ritenour hadn't posted that bond and was still in custody.

Ritenour was arrested in February after police responded to the apartment she shared with her 18-month-old daughter.

Officers found the child dead from head trauma, and Ritenour was charged with first degree murder.

Her initial bond was set at $125,000 and she posted that soon after her arrest.

A few days after her release, Ritenour's bond was raised to half a million dollars.

She was then re-arrested and is currently scheduled to face trial in November.
