Bridal show shines spotlight on downtown Ottumwa businesses
Brides, mothers of the brides, and others attended the Bridal Show at NuCara Pharmacy in downtown Ottumwa.
The event went from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Numerous local vendors set up displays to show guests what they have to offer. Tonyâ??s Flowers and Gifts displayed floral arrangements and Bubba Qâ??s prepared samples of possible reception menu items.
And of course, who could forget the wedding dresses? The Bridal Cottage put on a fashion show of the latest trends for brides.
â??If you've noticed, all of these were downtown merchants and we just want everyone to know that downtown is alive and well and that we have a lot to offer for that bridal event that's coming up. And we have a lot of ideas to make that day pretty special for anybody that's going to be having a wedding soon,â?? said Diana Shinn, NuCara Business Development.
Shinn said that Ottumwa has everything a bride would need when planning a wedding. She added that this is part of the effort to help revitalize downtown Ottumwa and attract more visitors.
