The Relay For Life of Adair County held a Survivors Luncheon and Reception Saturday afternoon at the Moose Lodge in Kirksville.
Survivors and caregivers celebrated with a catered lunch, door prizes, and live entertainment.
This event is done every year to show the community that people can survive and beat cancer.
"There's hope. Just because you get cancer doesn't mean it is the end of the world. There's a community of people out here who really care about you and we are here to support," said Relay For Life of Adair County Co-Chair Tom Johnson.
Survivors also did hand prints for a poster that will be displayed during next Saturday's big Relay For Life event at the Kirksville Primary School.
Johnson says it is not too late to sign up a team. If you are interested in joining click here.
